Spectral land

2019

Created while in residence at Youkobo Art Space in Tokyo, JP during an Asian Cultural Council Fellowship researching sound art and spatial practices in Japan. Collaged color filter landscapes in the studio’s portals created colorful landscape images throughout the space, which mutate and move with the daily movements of the sun. A vocal performance and collaboration with violinist Yoko Ikeda activated the space with the interplay of corporeal and spectral presence.
